An article entitled “Focus on the human being not the abstract, leading economist tells Edinburgh symposium” appeared recently in The Scotsman detailing some of the discussion that occured at our recent Symposium, with a focus on the talk delivered by Deirdre McCloskey.
The article discusses McCloskey’s criticisms of the current state of economics, including being too abstract and mathematical, emphasizing the need to focus on real-life stories of people in the economy and understand moral drivers within society.
